MSXart becomes 'Unlimited', in other terms 'the permanent artworks showcase featuring MSX'!
Our primary ambition is to continue this 'contest' by offering a familiar and simple platform that is inviting enough for novice and expert graphists to create artworks celebrating the MSX system and everything that turns around it. This way, multiple visions of this vibrant system can be shared across members of the MSX community, old or new.
First of all, MSXart is a personal initiative. Since 2002, this contest has generated over a hundred graphics, wallpapers and miscellaneous artworks. Over the years it has probably become the largest artworks collection made on PC's fully dedicated to the MSX.
To continue the adventure, grow even more the collection and to motivate any person liking the standard to produce new artworks, MSXart will live all year-long without any deadlines to submit designs.
As a thank you, Passion MSX will announce systematically any new contribution through its News. And if the number of submissions is important enough, a new wall-calendar can be produced year after year. Do not wait for the last minute to start your project. An artwork that is submitted in January will have as much chances to be featured in the calendar than one arriving late in the year.
I sincerely hope this new formula will generate much enthusiasm and many new artwork designs. Good luck to all and I hope to hear from you soon!

DEADLINES FOR SUBMISSION
There aren't any. Just e-mail me your artwork on New Years Day, during your Summer Vacation, on Valentine's Day, at 3am and from anywhere in the world! Do not worry, your artwork will be put in spotlight in Passion MSX's News - 100% guaranteed - and will be featured as well in the Pictures Gallery. With a bit of luck, it will even be published in the wall-calendar that I have been publishing since 2007... as long as the file that you are sending complies with the material specifications and that it arrives no later than the end of September (otherwise it will make the year after calendar). And really, everybody has his chance... MSXart is just a dozen participants per year since its inception (you see where I want to come!).
AUTHORISED SOFTWARE
You are totally free to use the software of your choice (e.g. Photoshop, Gimp or if you prefer your own MSX to create a Screen 4, 5, 8 artwork...) and any tools of your choice.
FILE TYPES
All common files will be accepted (JPG, PSD, TIFF...). Artworks created on MSX can be submitted in their original format but must be accompanied as well with a copy readable on any modern PC.
RESOLUTION & IMAGE SIZES:
MSXart' Unlimited accepts all artworks, without exception. However, to be able to publish them on the yearly wall-calendar, it is mandatory to follow precisely the material and layout specifications mentionned below.

TRIM SIZE (bleed)
Width: 11.25" / 28,575cm / 3375 pixels
Depth: 8.75" / 22,225cm / 2625 pixels
TYPE AREA (What will be printed):
Width: 11" / 27,94cm / 3300 pixels
Depth: 8.5" / 21,59cm / 2550 pixels
The coil binding will cover .375" / 0,953cm / 113 pixels at the bottom of this area. Your artwork should be filled with the background image or color, but remain free of any text and/or images that should not be perforated by the coil.

THEMES
There are no specific themes you need to comply to but to enter the contest, your art must be related to the MSX theme. You are entirely free to chose the one you like most. MSXart Unlimited reserves the right to announce from time to time specific themes to stimulate participation.
