Level 1 of building 1 After having received the first instructions from Big Boss, enter the building. Go to the top, then the right without being detected. |

Go back to the crossing where you have found card 2 and go to the top. The floor is electrified. Shoot a missile and guide it to the switch. Go to the top, then to the right to enter a cell (card 1 required) and release a 3rd prisoner who will give the frequency of Diane, member of the resistance. | ||

bottom guards, then go to the top cell (*) and take a cardboard
box. Exit this room and go to the bottom door

back to the top, then the right, kill the 2 guards who

Level 2 of building 1 Go to the bottom while avoiding the cameras, then wait for the guard is sleeping to kill him. On the two following screens, you need to find the good way to avoid the laser rays (the cigarets trick does not work in Metal Gear 1) and access to the cell (card 1 required) where you will release a 5th prisoner and get therefore a promotion. |

Go back to the top (avoid the lasers !), kill again the sleeping guard and go to the left. Kill the 3 guards and go to the left. Avoid the camera to take ammo and bombs. Go then to the lift and choose level 1 of building 1. | ||

Level 1 of building 1 Kill the guards and go to the bottom. Avoid the cameras, enter the cell on the left (card 2 required) and release a 6th prisoner who will speak about Grey Fox. |

Level 0 of building 1 You are now in jail and all your equipment has been confiscated ! Punch many times the wall on the left to open a passage (where it sounds hollowl) and release the 8th prisoner, it's Grey Fox. He will explain what is the Metal Gear and that you need absolutely to find the Doctor Petrovitch to neutralize this dangerous weapon. Punch the bottom wall and go to the right. |

Time for the battle against the First Boss : SHOOT GUNNER. Call Big Boss for a tip about your equipment. You need to punch the bottom door on the right. Check the equipment and remove a spy item : the transmitter (select it and press on the spacebar). Choose the missiles for the battle against the Boss and use card 2 to open the bottom door on the left : you will find there the access card 3 and ammo. After your victory, use card 3 to open the door on the right. | ||

You are in a labyrinth. You need to punch the walls to find the locations where you will place bombs and therefore open passages while killing the dobermans. Try first to reach the center of the labyrinth. | ||

In the center of the labyrinth, there's a cell. Use card 3 to enter and get the bomb blast suit. Go back to the starting point of the labyrinth, then go to the top. Find a hollow part in the wall on the left and place a bomb to acquire an enemy uniform. Go back to the starting point of the labyrinth, then go to the top, then go to the bottom and the right. Find a hollow part in the bottom wall and place a bomb to acquire ammo and bombs. Go then to the top to find the lift and go to level 2 of building 1. | ||

Level 2 of building 1 Go to the cell protected by three guards. Kill the guards, then open the door on the left (card 3 required). Pass through a second door, avoid the rolling pin, then go to the bottom, kill the guards. |

Pass through a door on the left : 3 guards are sleeping, kill them and take the mines. Enter a cell on the right (card 3 required) to release a 9th prisoner who will give some infos. | ||

Go to the bottom. As soon you are detected, the guards runs to electrify the floor. Use missiles to neutralize the guard and the switch. Enter the room on the left (card 3 required ) to get infra-red goggles. | ||

Go to the top and the right, then go down to the lasers zone. Select the infra-red goggles to make the things more easy. Go to the bottom and the left, then enter the big cell (card 3 required) to release a 10th prisoner, you can get some infos and a promotion. | ||

Go to the door on the left (card 3 required) and be ready for the battle against the Second Boss : MACHINE GUN KID. Recommended weapon : the missiles. When the boss is defeated, go to the top door (card 1 required) and take the parachute. Go back to the lift and select the level 4 of building 1. | ||

Level 4 of building 1 You are on the roof but the access is protected by an artificial wind barrier. Select the bomb blast suit. Go to the bottom to open a room (card 3 required) where you will find missiles. |

Part 1 of the desert Select the mine detector. Go in the truck on the left to find bombs. Don't visit the truck on the right, otherwise you will come back in the mined zone of building 1. Go to the top. Attention ! You are attacked with bombs ! You will find ratios in the isolated truck on the right. . |

Select mines as weapon and go to the top while avoiding the bombs. Be ready for the fight against the Fourth Boss : the TANK. You need to place 12 mines on his way when he backs up and avoid its shots. Other technique : wait for the half of the tank is outside the screen and pass through it ! | ||

When this boss is destroyed, go to the top. You come at a checkpoint. Big Boss calls to give you some advice. Select the uniform. The guards will let you pass and open the door of building 2. | ||

When you exit the room, eliminate the 2 guards and go to the bottom, then the right. Select the grenades and enter the drainage system to go to the center door(*). (*) card 4 required |

Behind this door, the Fifth Boss is waiting for you : the BULLDOZER. You need to be very fast to destroy it by launching 8 grenades. When it's done, pass through the top door (card 4 required). | ||

Exit the cell and run to the right, then to the bottom while avoidimg the guards. Kill the guard in jet-pack and enter the cell (card 4 required) to take ammo and the access card 5. Get then to the right to find a door (card 5 required) which opens the access to a lift and go to level 0 of building 2. | ||

Go to the left and enter the cell (card 5 required). It looks like Doctor Petrovitch, but it's a fake: run away to not fall in the opening trap, then go in the room on the left and you will find the access card 6. | ||

Go back to the room of the false Doctor Petrovitch and enter again the labyrinthe, go to the left and follow the way to a cell (card 5 required) where you will find ratios. Go to the right and look for the location in the wall on the left to place a bomb. Avoid the trap, go to the open room and take ammo. | ||

Go back to the room where you have found the card 6, select this card to open the bottom door, then the door on the left. Select the sub machine gun for the battle against the Sixth Boss : FIRE TROOPER. | ||

After this fight, go back to the labyrinth, then go to the top and the right. Enter a room, avoid the rolling pin, take ratios, ammo and bombs. Go back to the room where you have fought against Fire Trooper, enter the lift and select the level 1 of building 2. | ||

Level 1 of building 2 Select the infra-red goggles to pass through the lasers zone and go to the right, then the bottom. Enter the drainage system and go to the bottom while passing round the somber zone. Go out of the water, go to the bottom, then the left to enter a room (card 6 required ) and find a flash light. Go back to the water to reach the door on the left (card 2 required) and get an antenna. |

Go then to the right and the top, enter the cell (card 5 required) and release a 16th prisoner who will give some infos. Go back to the lift and select the level 2 of building 2. | ||

Level 2 of building 2 As soon you come on this level, the alarm starts automatically. Run to the right, the bottom, then the right on the next screen. Ignore the bosses and open the door on the right (card 5 required). |

Go first to the cell on the left (card 3 required) to release a 17th prisoner who will give the Jennifer's frequency. Exit this cell, call Jennifer, she will answer only if you have 4 stars. Go then to the cell on the right (card 6 required ) and you will find a rocket launcher. | ||

Go back to the bosses, avoid the top boss to open the top door on the left (card 1 required). Go to the top, then the right, open the door (card 6 required) to find the antidote. Exit this room, call Jennifer, she will open the door of the room more on the right. You will visit later this room. | ||

Go back again to the bosses, avoid the bottom boss to open the bottom door on the left (card 1 required). Go to the bottom, then the extrem-left to take ammo in an open room. Exit this room to go to the top and open a door (card 6 required). You will release a 18th prisoner, the Doctor Petrovitch, but he does not want to give any info about the Metal Gear before he can see back his daughter Elen. | ||

You are now ready for the fight against the Seventh Bosses : the ARNOLDS. Use the rocket launcher to destroy them (4 rockets by Arnold !). Your victory will allow you to get the access card 7. Open the top door on the right (card 2 required) and go to the top, then the right and the top. You will find a compass in the room previously opened by Jennifer. | ||

Arnolds. Open the bottom door on the right (*). Go to the
bottom and the left, release a 19th prisoner,
then go to the right and the top. Open the door (*),
avoid the rolling pin and the trap to access to the lift

Level 0 of building 2 Go to the bottom, then the left. Select the gas mask to pass through the labyrinth previously explored and go to the room with a trap. Open the bottom door (card 6 required). You enter a somber zone, full with traps. Select the flash light and go to the bottom. To avoid the traps, you need to pass round them before they are completely opened or to run away at the good moment before to passing round them. This zone ends with a door (card 1 required). |

Level 0 of building 1 Kill the dobermans and go to the bottom, then the right. Open the door of the cell (card 6 required). Someone is crying for help. Avoid the trap and punch the wall on the right. Open a passage with bombs at the location it sounds hollow. |

Exit the cell and go to the bottom door (card 6 required), then go to the right and you will be back in the first labyrinth. Go to the bottom and open the door of a room not previously visited (card 4 required), you will find there a body armor. You can now go back to Doctor Petrovitch on level 2 of building 2 by going through the traps zone or the desert (it's longer !). | ||

Go out of the water when you can't progress further. Go to the bottom, then the left and the top to open a door (card 6 required) and find bombs. Go back to the location where you have gone out of the water and go to the top, then the left. Open the exit door of building 2 (card 7 required) and select the compass before entering the second part of the desert. | ||

Part 2 of the desert Avoid the scorpions by running or killing them. If you are stinged, go in the inventory, select the antidote and press on the spacebar. Go to the top. |

You come before 7 trucks. Big Boss calls you, but don't follow his advice. Kill the guards. Avoid the trucks at both extrems, because they will bring you back to the mined zone of building 1. Avoid also the 3rd and 5th trucks from the left, because you shoud brought back to the first part of the desert. You will find ammo in the 2d and 4th trucks from the left, but the last one hides also 4 guards. Go to the top door (card 7 required) and enter building 3. | ||

Be ready for the battle against the Ninth Boss : the METAL GEAR ! To destroy it, you need to avoid his laser rays and place bombs at his feet in the following order : R, R, L, R, L, L, R, L, L, R, R, L, R, L, R and R (L = left - R = right). When this horrible machine is destroyed, select the rocket launcher and the body armor before passing through the door on the left. A counter makes its apperance, it's the countdown before the explosion of the fortress. | ||

It's the hour of the last fight, this one is against the End Boss : BIG BOSS who wants now to kill you, because you know too many things. You need to launch rockets to get rid of him. At this moment, the top door will be opened. Smoke a cigaret to gain some useful time for your escape from Outer Heaven in procedure of self-destruction. | ||
